Cheetah Hunt | Busch Gardens Tampa – Tampa, Florida
Cheetah Hunt - Busch Gardens Tampa 2011Busch Gardens Tampa will be getting an Intamin launch coaster that’s being compared to Cedar Point’s Maverick. With several launch sections and immersive enviroment where you’ll be traveling close to the ground, below the ground, and in the air, Cheetah Hunt looks to be a thrilling ride. Dare Devil Dive | Six Flags Over Georgia – Atlanta, Georgia
Dare Devil Dive is Coming to Six Flags Over Georgia in 2011Six Flags Over Georgia announced that they’ll be adding Dare Devil Dive in 2011. The Gerstlauer Euro Fighter roller coaster will feature a vertical lift, beyond vertical drop, and three inversions. Read more about Dare Devil Dive at Six Flags Over Georgia.


Green Lantern | Six Flags Magic Mountain – Valencia, California
Six Flags Magic Mountain will reclaim the Coaster Count Crown with the addition of their own Green Lantern roller coaster. The Intamin ZacSpin model is a compact 4th dimension roller coaster where riders sit on the outside of the track and spin on their own axis. It will be the first of its kind in the States. Green Lantern | Six Flags Great Adventure – Jackson, New Jersey
Six Flags Great Adventure has announced that their new stand up roller coaster will be themed after the DC Comics super hero Green Lantern. Just as the park’s 2008 roller coaster Dark Knight coincided with the opening of the movie, a Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds (my wife can’t wait!) will be opening in 2011.

If you’ve been reading the blog for a while then you know that this new roller coaster was Chang at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in a former life. Last off season Six Flags removed the ride from the Louisville, KY park. Read more about Green Lantern at Six Flags Great Adventure.


Texas Giant | Six Flags Over Texas – Arlington, Texas
Continuing the trend of Six Flags makeover mantra, Six Flags Over Texas’ massive woodie is getting a unique overhaul. Mr. Six’s Dance Coaster | Six Flags Magic Mountain – Valencia, California
Six Flags CEO Mark Shapiro announced last year that Six Flags Magic Mountain would get a new kiddie/family roller coaster for 2011. With the addition of this roller coaster, Magic Mountain will be tied at 17 roller coasters with Cedar Point. Mr. Six’s Dance Coaster will be themed after the company’s mascot, that dancing old guy, Mr. Six. Read more about Magic Mountain’s 2011 roller coaster.


Untamed | Canobie Lake – Salem, New Hampshire
Canobie Lake is in the planning phases of adding a new roller coaster. The proposed ride would be a Gerstlauer Eurofighter 320+ model. It’s a compact coaster that features single cars allowing for excellent maneuverability in tight twists and turns. Other 320+ models include an ultra steep 97 degree drop, a vertical loop, an immelmann, and a zero-g roll. Read more about Untamed at Canobie Lake

X-Raptor | Gardaland – Italy
Gardaland will be home to Bolliger & Mabillard’s new prototype roller coaster. At first glance, X-Raptor’s ride design seems reminiscent of a 4th Dimension roller coaster like X2, but rumors are that the seats will not spin like 4D’s do. Read more about X-Raptor at Gardaland
